Every planet moves through all twelve signs at its own pace — Mercury in weeks, Pluto over decades. Choose one below to see when it entered each sign, filter to a sign you care about, or narrow the years.

Positions are tropical and geocentric (the same basis the natal chart tool uses), computed with astronomy-engine. Times shown are in UTC, so a date near a boundary can shift by a day in your own timezone. A ℞ marks a sign-stay that contained a retrograde — slow planets like Saturn retrograde every year, so most of their sign-stays have one; tap the ℞ retrograde chip to see the exact window(s), which are only part of the stay. Common questions
What sign was a planet in on a given date?
Pick a planet and the Planetarium lists the date ranges it spent in each zodiac sign, from 1900 to 2100, so you can find any past or future placement.
What does it mean when a planet is retrograde?
A planet is retrograde when it appears to move backward through the zodiac as seen from Earth — an optical effect of the orbits, not a real reversal. The Planetarium flags each sign-stay that held a retrograde; tap it to open the exact dates of every retrograde window.
Which planets and years are covered?
Every planet from Mercury out to Pluto, across 1900–2100, computed with the astronomy-engine library on a tropical, geocentric basis.
Can I find when two planets were in certain signs at the same time?
Yes. Switch the Planetarium to Combine mode and stack up to five placements — for example Mercury in Aries and Venus in Taurus — and it lists only the date ranges when all of them held at once.
